Seaside Apartment — A Contemporary Mediterranean Retreat

Overlooking the marina of Badalona and the endless horizon of the Mediterranean Sea, this seaside apartment captures the essence of contemporary coastal living. With panoramic views of both the sea and the green hills of the Maresme, the space is flooded with natural light from sunrise to sunset — a canvas of ever-changing reflections and atmospheres.

Located in a newly built residential complex, the apartment originally lacked character and individuality. We wanted to transform it into a refined, personal and cozy retreat — a second residence for a family seeking a serene yet sophisticated escape by the sea.

We approached the design with a minimalist and sculptural sensibility, where simplicity meets warmth. The neutral palette enhances the natural brightness, while custom-made carpentry and integrated storage solutions bring functionality and coherence. Carefully selected materials — including a grey natural marble bar island and linen textiles — evoke the understated elegance of Mediterranean living.

Furniture pieces were chosen as both functional and artistic statements. A sculptural dining table anchors the open living space, mirrored by an elegant coffee table that adds rhythm and balance. Together, they establish a dialogue between form and function, contributing to an atmosphere of effortless refinement.

Subtle layers of lighting, texture, and proportion define the ambience — from sculptural light fixtures to soft curtains that filter the daylight. The result is a chic, contemporary seaside home that celebrates its surroundings: calm, luminous, and deeply connected to the Mediterranean landscape beyond its windows.
