SERRA APARTMENT

Although interior design is mainly known for its decorative and aesthetic appeal, it also can be used as a tool for life transformation. Great interior design can help fulfill personal goals, overcome health challenges or even unlock the door to a new lifestyle.

In the Serra project, the design objective from the client was to achieve a harmonious work-life balance — to create a comfortable, stylish contemporary apartment with a private spa that would also serve as a home office for a tech entrepreneur based in Barcelona.

From the concept to the final result, the emphasis was on designing a relaxing home environment where our client could escape from the hectic stresses of work and travel.

This required an open floor plan where home working could be accommodated without being ever-present. The generously sized kitchen island is primarily a place to meet, dine with and entertain guests but it can also serve as a home-office work station. The apartment’s spa ensures that even when working from home there is always a space available just for relaxation.

Serra’s entire audio-visual design was carried out together with Bang & Olufsen. All of the screens can be used as workstations or for leisure, depending on the user’s need or mood, with outstanding sound and image quality.

A welcoming L-shaped sofa with ample space for friends and family is the main feature of the large open living room. This warm space is complemented and completed by a custom-made stone water feature that covers the wall, as well as a B&O television with sculptural loudspeakers.

Serra is an example of how interior design can transform lives. Thoughtful, tasteful and graceful, it elevates everyday existence while opening up new possibilities.
