“In every project we do, we establish a dialogue with the characteristics offered by the space. We like to conserve, recover and re-expose the location’s secrets. To integrate all the history in a new proposal, in search of a clearly contemporary result. In this case, as with many other stores, the space formerly consisted of two parts: a commercial area to serve the public and another further back that served as a residence. In this case, since the 50’s, it had been a bar, a neighborhood tavern and the home of its owners. We thought it would be interesting to play with this concept — the commercial area connected to the home — especially since it is a furniture and decoration store. The idea was to turn a retail location into a house with open spaces, with a natural and fluid flow through different areas of a home, where you would spontaneously discover each of the decorative and design pieces.
